"Bienvenido" means welcome, but in Oaxaca it is more than just a word...it's a feeling. We say bienvenidos to our guests in our beautiful one bedroom apartments.
Our two apartments are beautifully furnished in a quiet setting, within walking distance of all of the major attractions that the city has to offer, and yet most affordable. Our two, one bedroom apartments are located in the very old neighborhood called "Jalatlaco" (hah-lahT-LAH-ko). We are just a few short blocks from our main Bed and Breakfast, La Casa de Mis Recuerdos, and, just a 15 minute walk to the zocalo and many of the well-known language schools. Click here for area map
The neighborhood is extremely quite, well lit, and is excellent for those who would like to come to Oaxaca just to relax. It is a perfect location for extended vacationers, writers, readers and students to use as a base. You will find it a very cozy apartment to return to after a busy day of sightseeing or Spanish school.
My wife Nora and myself, William, are your proprietors who reside on the same property. Nora was born, raised and educated in Oaxaca while I am a former pilot and aircraft mechanic from the U.S. Having lived here for most of her life Nora will be glad to assist you in getting acquainted with our historic city. If you happen to enjoy cooking, our kitchens are well equipped to experiment replicating the local dishes. The local food market named the Merced is just a few minutes walking distance. Also, Nora conducts cooking classes so she will be happy to schedule you into one or is a good source to ask for where to buy the unique ingredients or ask about a certain technique when making your mole ( Mo-Lay) sauce.
